Baby M – 30 Weeks

30 Weeks

Bump Analysis? First time in a while that my hair looks decent.  If you can’t tell, blame my photographer for the blurry picture.  Also do you remember when I was around 20 weeks and I thought I was huge?  I lied.  Now I’m huge.

Month/Trimester? 7 months [28 weeks – 31 weeks] / 3rd Trimester! For some reason in my head, 30 weeks is a milestone.  Maybe it’s because I only have 10 weeks left (give or take)? or maybe it’s because I’m 75% done with my first pregnancy which just blows my mind!

Fruit of the week? This week, Aubrey is the size of a cucumber!  She is approximately 15.2 – 16.7 in long, and weighs between 2.5 – 3.8 lbs!

Development? Her skin is continuing to get smoother, meanwhile her brain is getting more wrinkly for all the necessary brain tissue! She’s also strong enough to grasp a finger… which will just melt my heart the first time she does that to me.

Movement? I THINK she had hiccups this week… I’m waiting for it to happen again to be sure.  It’s absolutely amazing how much stronger she is getting… well stronger and bigger.  Her kicks are getting so much more powerful, and there are times when my entire stomach shakes back and forth while she is doing gymnastics in there.  It’s pretty amazing to watch.

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? Still waiting on the results from my gestational diabetes testing…

Weight Gain?  1 lb this week… Totaling 22 lbs.

  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn daily – I eat TUMS like it’s my job.
  • Lots of discomfort when sitting – she really likes being pushed against my rib cage

Cravings? I don’t think I really have any right now…

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip

Sleep? I am exhausted when my head hits the pillow, I wake up a few time to go to the bathroom, but by about noon I’m dragging, and begging for a nap!

Maternity Clothes? I took advantage of the 50% off Old Navy sale this week and I purchased a couple of professional maternity dresses.  I’ll be needing those next month, and who wants to buy full price maternity dresses that I’ll only be able to wear for 2 months… not me.  Call me cheap.  You’d be right 🙂

Exercise? Walking and the gym per the usual.  My legs were SO incredibly sore after the gym though… yikes.

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? No change here… Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Labor Signs? Braxton hicks are more apparent when I am active and walking.

What I miss? Cuddling with Paul at night… we still cuddle, but it’s getting harder with a big ol’ pregnancy pillow in the way.  At one point last week, Paul said, “I’m caught in your big pillow!” he had his foot wrapped between the pillow and the sheet and he couldn’t move.  I died laughing.  He also referred to it as my “big banana pillow” this morning when it was bothering him.  My husband REALLY likes the pregnancy pillow… 😉

Looking forward to? Seeing the nursery come together 🙂 We have started hanging things on the walls, and it makes me so excited!  It still has a ways to go, but you can at least see a nursery coming together!!! [this is also a huge sigh of relief for me, because I am starting to get really anxious as we get closer and closer to the due date!  This planner needs to have things in place!]

Baby M – 19 Weeks

Bump Analysis? Since my photographer is currently in Las Vegas, we’ll use a group shot from Malarie and Whitney’s birthday dinner 🙂 Ignore how huge my face looks… I’m going to blame the scarf.

Month/Trimester? 5 months (according to my book from the doctor weeks 18-21 make up month 5 – but my mom argues I’m still 4 months) / 2nd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? Our baby is the size of a mango! 6 inches long and 8.5 ounces!

Development? Junebug is developing a protective coating over her skin known as vernix caseosa, and she is also working on developing her 5 senses!  Nerve cells for taste, hearing, sight, and smell are developing her her brain.

Movement? She seemed pretty still last week, but she has been making up for it this week!  She’s bouncing around like crazy in there!  I can’t wait for it to be something Paul can feel.  Right now I feel her move, and quickly put his hand on my stomach and then she stops… Not cooperative 🙂

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? The results of the APT test came back and Aubrey tested negative for open tube neural defects and Spina Bifida!  Thanking God for a healthy little girl!!  We go in next Tuesday for our 20 week anatomy scan.  This will be happening at a high risk specialist.  Due to some family history (i.e. my sister being born with a hole in her heart – which closed up on it’s own) they just want to be a little more cautious and have Aubrey evaluated by a specialist.  They will focus a little more on her heart development along with the rest of the anatomy scan.

Weight Gain? 6 lbs…

Symptoms?  Same old…

Cravings? Shrimp!

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip

Sleep? I assumed I would sleep through the night until the third trimester, and then I would be so uncomfortable that wouldn’t happen… but I actually can’t remember the last time I slept through the night.  If I’m not tossing and turning, I’m going to the bathroom or I’m being woken up by crazy dreams (pregnant dreams are so weird…) Now that I’m sleeping on my side, I’ve successfully pinched a nerve in my neck twice now.  The last time it seemed to go away after I put some heat on it, and Paul and my dad both gave me neck rubs.  This time I was up pretty much all night.  Paul fell asleep that night holding a bag of ice on my neck… how cute is he? 🙂

Maternity Clothes? Still just a few maternity shirts, but at the rate I seem to be growing this could be changing soon.

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? Don’t say that word around here…

Labor Signs? Praying not to have these anytime soon!

What I miss? Pregnancy wise I’m not really missing much… but I am missing these girls back in Tallahassee!!!

Looking forward to? Seeing my husband on Friday!  When you both work at home and you’re ALWAYS together, not seeing him for 4-5 days seems like an eternity…

Baby M – 16 Weeks

16 weeks

Bump Analysis? I went from barely having a bump to looking 6 months pregnant over night… or at least that’s how it feels.

Trimester? 2nd Trimester

Fruit of the week? Our baby is the size of an avocado! 4.6 inches long and 3.5 ounces!

Development? Baby M has little bones forming in their ears that allows them to hear my voice now!  The baby is also growing lashes, hair, eyebrows, and their taste buds are forming!

Movement?  I swear I’ve felt some flutters, but I can’t be sure if it is actually baby I feel…Still waiting to know for sure 🙂

Names? Our boy name is set in stone, and Paul is 100% with the girl name, and I think we’re about 90% on the girls name!  January 8th we find out if we’re having a little boy or girl, and maybe that will help us decide!

Testing? The results for the NT exam came back great, so that is amazing news 🙂

Weight Gain? 3 lbs as of this morning – but that bump looks like a lot more than 3 lbs.

Symptoms?  Still having some headaches and dizzy spells.  Paul doesn’t even ask anymore when I grab onto him and try to steady myself.

Cravings? Not really craving anything – the other day I wanted a donut.  Does that count?

Aversions? Still not feeling the poultry.  The smell of BBQ is terrible.  I want nothing to do with it, and I’m pretty sure I’ll never eat buffalo chicken dip again.

Sleep?  I fall asleep on my stomach every night, but I wake up multiple times throughout the night on my back.  I think my body is letting me know that stomach sleeping won’t last much longer, and then I’m pretty sure I’ll never sleep again.

Maternity Clothes? Still wearing all my normal clothes, but I did bust out my belly band this week so my shorts were more comfortable.  I also washed the entire bag of maternity clothes my sister gave me to get them ready.  I’m sure I’ll be busting them out soon!

What I miss? Every night I put oil on before I go to bed to help with stretch marks and itchy skin.  I miss going to bed without being oily, but I guess I still have a long time before that happens right?

Looking forward to?  That big game on January 1st between our Noles and the Oregon Ducks… Time to go duck hunting!!! 🙂 Go NOLES!
