Baby M – 38 Weeks

Bump Analysis? She’s dropping! You might not see it but Paul and I can tell!

Month/Trimester? 9 months [36 weeks – 40 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? Aubrey is the size of a pumpkin!! [which really doesn’t help a first time mom imagine pushing something that size out… that’s terrifying!]   She is 18.9-20.9 in and 6.2-9.2lbs!

Development? She may already have an inch or so of hair, and she’s shedding the white goo looking stuff on her skin (Vernix caseosa).  Her head is now about the same circumference as her abdomen. She would be perfectly fine if she was born now.  😃

Movement? I can tell she is cramped – I feel more of her just moving and making my stomach bulge in different directions than kicking all the time now, but when she kicks man are they strong!

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? The Strep B test came back negative so no antibiotics during labor, unless necessary for other reasons.  This was also the last test of my pregnancy.

Weight Gain?  1 lb this week… Totaling 32 lbs. My goal was to only gain 30 and I’m pretty close to that.  I’ll take it!

Symptoms? These make me sound miserable, but I don’t typically have them all at once😃 I’m actually feeling pretty good I think for as far along as I am!  The pressure and random pains are definitely not comfortable but I can deal!

  • Shortness of Breath
  • Tingly/Numb leg sensations on my right leg
  • Dry Nose/Nose bleeds
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn
  • Pressure

Cravings? Nothing really that I’m craving.

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip.

Sleep? After a long May, this weekend Paul and I had ZERO plans and I took full advantage and napped on Saturday and Sunday.  It was just what I needed!  I felt so much better each day after I slept.  That being said… at night I am waking up constantly to go to the bathroom, and to flip from side to side, which PS is NOT easy at this point!

Maternity Clothes?  Same old, same old.

Exercise? This past week, Paul and I went and swam laps and we’ve walked.  I am also still doing the squat challenge.  Yesterday was Day 11 with 120 squats… killer.  Today is much easier with only 40 🙂

Wedding Rings? ON! My rings were a little big to begin with, so though most people are surprised to hear they are still on its probably because they fit the way they should now.

Stretch Marks? No new tiger stripes… at least not yet! Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Preparations for Baby? I didn’t prep anything this week… I had every intention of making freezer meals for when she comes to help us have some meals for a while, but I chose to sleep instead.  I’m waiting for that nesting urge to kick back in like I had around 4 months, but the urge to sleep wins out every time…

Labor Signs? Memorial Day weekend I was having a LOT of contractions that had me thinking she was coming sooner rather than later, but then things slowed down.  The pressure lessened and the contractions slowed down.  Starting Saturday, the pressure started to come back in my lower abdomen, and then continued to move down to my pelvis.  I also started with more frequent contractions, but nothing that has me remotely ready to head to the hospital.

The doctor I saw today said they won’t do internal exams until 40 weeks to prevent infection.  Apparently every doctor in the practice does it differently, and so we still have no idea if there is any progress going on… Although I guess it doesn’t make much of a difference.  Labor will start when it starts!

Paul is betting on her coming June 7th, so we’ll see if he’s right 🙂  This waiting game… it ain’t easy!  Can I PLEASE hold my baby girl?!

What I miss? Standing, putting shoes on, getting out of bed all without help.  I guess I just like being independent 😉 ha.

Looking forward to? Getting labor over with, and just holding Aubrey in my arms! Also seeing Paul as a Dad, because I am positive it will have me falling in love with him all over again 🙂

Baby M – 37 Weeks {FULL TERM!}

Bump Analysis? She has dropped… Like an inch and it probably isn’t noticeable to anyone but me.

Month/Trimester? 9 months [36 weeks – 40 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? Aubrey is the size of a Winter Melon!  She is 18.9-20.9 in and 6.2-9.2lbs! AKA she is newborn baby size!!

Development? In the womb she is praticing inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping, and blinking.  She’s also getting ready for her first BM of meconium.  She has officially reached full term [Praise the Lord!] and is gaining about 1/2 oz a day!  When Paul leaves for his work trips, he now kisses me and says, “Don’t go into labor” 🙂

Movement? I am feeling her every move.  Every time she adjusts her position my stomach gets a little deformed looking.  I feel like it always looks deformed because she is always moving.  Her heartbeat was much lower at my last dr appointment {135} which the doctor said is pretty normal since she has less space to move around!

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? Waiting on the results from the Strep B test.

Weight Gain?  No change this week… Totaling 31 lbs.

Symptoms?

  • Anxiety/Heart Palpitations/Shortness of Breath
  • Tingly/Numb leg sensations on my right leg
  • Dry Nose/Nose bleeds
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn
  • Swelling

Cravings? Nothing really that I’m craving.

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip.

Sleep? Give me a bed anytime, anywhere.  I’m exhausted constantly, and I don’t feel like I’ve had the time to rest.  I was so thankful to have yesterday off work!

Maternity Clothes?  Same old, same old.

Exercise? Paul and I did go walking A couple times this week! Hooray!  I just tried to ignore the fact that my right leg felt like it weighed 500 lbs and between a numb calf and a numb butt cheek it was a blast! Seriously it’s kind of sad how difficult this little baby has made walking.

We also went and swam laps, and I started a 30 day squat challenge.  So exercise was much better this week!

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? Just when I thought there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I was making it out pretty unscathed…As if I didn’t know all the weight I’ve gained that isn’t in my belly wasn’t going to my legs, I now have the stretch marks to prove it.  I battled insecurities with my legs pre-pregnancy, so postpartum this should be fun…  Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Preparations for Baby? Aubrey’s car seat was inspected this week by our local fire department, and we were given the good to go!  I was able to pick up my free breast pump this week thanks to insurance.

We also got the rest of the baby products assembled.  We now have a swing and rock n’ play set up.  So weird seeing baby things around our house!

Labor Signs? As of my doctor appointment on Friday Aubrey was head down and pretty low in my pelvis! Woohoo! I was supposed to have a doctor appointment this week for 37 weeks, but they’re booked so I go back next Tuesday [38 weeks] and at that point they will start internal exams to see if we are getting close!

I’ve been having Braxton hicks for a while, but this past weekend they started becoming more regular.  Instead of having a couple a day I’m having quite a few an hour sometimes.  I actually started timing them at one point this weekend because I ended up having 7 within an hour and it was spreading to my lower back.  This whole pregnancy I’ve been planning on her being really late, but this definitely had me questioning that.

The pelvic pressure is here, and it’s intense.  If I wasn’t waddling before, I am definitely waddling now.  Let the waiting game begin!!

What I miss? Not bumping my stomach on things, because I don’t realize how big I am.  It’s a struggle.

Looking forward to? Holding our beautiful little girl in my arms!

Baby M – 35 Weeks

Bump Analysis? Still carrying super high, and I’m waiting for her to drop.  If she gets much stronger I feel like she could crack a rib with her little kicks!

Month/Trimester? 8 months [32 weeks – 35 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? Aubrey is the size of a coconut!  She is 17.2-18.7 in and 4.2-5.8 lbs!

Development? Her hearing is fully developed and she responds best to high pitched noises.  So I’m sure our dogs are waking her up… or maybe she’s learning to sleep through their barking? (I can dream!) Fun Fact: her brain only weighs about 2/3 of what her brain will weigh at 39-40 weeks!  So stay in there and keep getting smarter sweet girl!

Movement? As she is getting bigger I can actually feel her little feet when she digs them into my side.  Only a few more weeks until I can count her little toes!!

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? Nothing at the moment!

Weight Gain?    Somehow I managed to gain 4lbs this week… Totaling 30 lbs. 30 lbs was my goal for this pregnancy but it looks like I might pass it since I have 5 weeks left.

Symptoms?

  • Anxiety/Heart Palpitations/Shortness of Breath
  • Tingly/Numb leg sensations on my right leg
  • Dry Nose/Nose bleeds
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn

Cravings? Coffee!! This isn’t so much a craving as a need since I’m not sleeping I feel like a zombie… All day.  Everyday!  Don’t worry – I keep it to 1 cup a day which is perfectly safe.

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip, and I don’t think this is an aversion, but I really have no interest in vegetables.  They do not sound appealing at all.

Sleep? I might as well already have a newborn.  I’m up a million times a night.  I get up to go to the bathroom and stay awake for a couple hours. I toss and turn and I’ve officially reached a love hate relationship with this stupid pregnancy pillow.  I am literally counting down the days until I can sleep on my stomach without a big ol’ pillow wrapped around me!!!

Maternity Clothes?  I have minimal variety in my current wardrobe.  It’s so boring!! I can’t wait to wear regular clothes and go shopping!

Exercise? Womp. Womp…

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? No change here… Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Preparations for Baby? This week was busy, but Paul and I managed to put a shelf together so I could organize some stuff in her closet.  Paul also worked on the rocking chair.  It’s sanded and he is in the process of painting it.

I started putting together a hospital bag, but I’m not done yet.  Still a few things to purchase and pack, but the fact that it’s sitting in our room is just crazy! It makes it feel so soon!

Labor Signs? Braxton hicks

What I miss? Sleeping on my stomach, sleep in general, and not getting stuck in the couch or on the bed due to the basketball in my stomach holding me back…

Looking forward to? To be honest this is a super busy week with work so I’m actually looking forward to Sunday when it’s all over!

Maternity Pictures

At some point when things slow down I promise I’ll come back and blog!  The last couple of weeks have seemed extremely busy, and Paul and I both have a LOT going on with work right now!  So for now I will leave you with a few of my favorite pictures from our maternity shoot taken by my lovely sister and edited by her and her husband!! It pays off having family members who enjoy photography!

We also took a few in the nursery, but for now I’ll just show you the silhouette shots so we don’t give away the nursery :).

Baby M – 34 Weeks

Bump Analysis? Selfie!!! Paul is out of town! In the last week I’ve had MULTIPLE people who were surprised to hear I was due NEXT MONTH! (Let that sink in for a second…!)  They told me I looked great and didn’t look nearly big enough to be having a baby next month… I told them to keep talking since I feel about the size of a whale. 🙂 *Sidenote: some pregnant women freak out when you tell them they don’t look big enough, because then they start to worry about their baby’s development.  Fortunately, I’m not one of those women.  I can feel Aubrey kicking, and rolling around like an olympian in there… she’s doing just fine 🙂

Month/Trimester? 8 months [32 weeks – 35 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? She’s the size of a butternut squash.  Weighing around 4.2 – 5.8lbs and she’s about 17.2- 18.7 in long!

Development? Aubrey can recognize and react to simple songs now.  These are songs and rhymes she may find soothing after birth.  She’s also going to the bathroom about a pint a day!

Movement? I’ve felt her have the hiccups before, but I think now that she is bigger they are very distinct and I know for sure she’s having hiccups.  She gets them a couple times a week, and it makes me giggle 🙂

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? Nothing at the moment!

Weight Gain? No weight gain this week… Holding steady at 26 lbs with 6 weeks to go!

Symptoms?

  • Round Ligament pain is back – which can only mean I am definitely about to get bigger… which I don’t feel like is possible!
  • Anxiety/Shortness of Breath
  • Tingly/Numb leg sensations on my right leg
  • Dry Nose/Nose bleeds
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn – I eat TUMS like they’re candy…

Cravings?  Starbucks ice white mocha latte please!

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip

Sleep? So every other night, I wake up to go to the bathroom and then I’m awake for about 2 hours (give or take) before I can fall back asleep.  The next night, I’m so tired that I sleep through the night.  Then the cycle repeats itself… I think my body is subconsciously prepping me for Aubrey’s arrival, but you think it would at least let me sleep while I can since I’m about to be completely sleep deprived!

Maternity Clothes?  I want normal clothes…Even my yoga pants are starting to get tight around my waist.  I have to wear them a little lower than normal so they don’t have to stretch around my big ol’ belly! Yoga pants people! You know the amount of stretch those things have!!!

Exercise? Let’s just ignore how badly I’m failing at this… Don’t judge me.

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? No change here… Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Preparations for Baby? Thanks to all of our sweet and generous family and friends we have just about EVERYTHING we need for Aubrey!  We had our baby shower this past weekend, and I’ve been going through and organizing everything and trying to figure out what’s left!  I am in the process of deciding what we still need, and using our registry completion coupon to get any other things we may need within the first few months.

I washed all of her clothes for 0-3 months.  I haven’t washed any newborn clothes, because I have a feeling our little girl will not fit into newborn clothes.  Paul and I were both over 8lbs when we were born, so there is a good chance our daughter will be a little chunk when she’s born too!

I’ve been realizing how quickly this pregnancy seems to be going, but I think it just hit Paul this week.  Yesterday he goes, “Babe – I just realized it’s May!  Aubrey will be here next month!  And what if she comes early!?  She could be here in like 2 weeks!”  I kind of laughed at him, but I’m glad to know it’s finally registered and now we’re on the same page 🙂

Labor Signs? Braxton Hicks on occasion mixed with cramps that feel similar to period cramps… Not sure if that’s a labor sign or just a weird body thing.

What I miss?  This weekend was a whirlwind, and I’m pretty sure it’s the first time that I actually felt like I was over being pregnant.  We were really busy and running around, which probably would have left me tired anyways, but by Saturday night my entire body ached.  My back, my knees, my legs, my feet.  I just wanted to lay down and not MOVE!  I definitely miss how much more energy I had pre pregnancy.  This past weekend terrified me for the next 2 weekends to come where I have events for work… they may kick my butt, or send me into labor…

Looking forward to? Getting the nursery organized!  It’s decorated, but it’s not organized!  My father-in-law brought us the rocking chair this weekend, so once we refinish it and put it in the nursery I promise I’ll show you guys what it looks like!!! I’m OBSESSED with her nursery.  It’s by far my favorite room in the house 🙂

Baby M – 33 Weeks

Bump Analysis? This little girl has not dropped at all.  She seems to be perfectly content hanging out in my rib cage.  I guess this is kind of a good thing, because hopefully that means she isn’t ready to come out anytime soon, and I want her to stay in there a little longer!

Month/Trimester? 8 months [32 weeks – 35 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? This week, Aubrey is the size of a durian… if you’re like me and you have no clue what that is… It’s apparently the smelliest superfruit.  Appealing right?  She is about 17.2 – 18.7in and 4.2-5.8lbs!  She could grow up to a full inch this week – which is just amazing to me!

durianpix1
Source: http://organicsfs.com/durian-the-smelliest-superfruit/

Development? She keeps her eyes open while she is awake, and she’s starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing.  Her bones are hardening, and she’s still going through more major brain development!  Keep on growing baby girl!

Movement? I can feel her moving still, but I think it’s definitely becoming cramped in there for her.  Sometimes at night I’ll be almost asleep, and then she will do some huge kick or what feels like she’s dragging her arm/leg across the inside of my stomach (weirdest feeling ever!).  It totally takes me by surprise and jolts me awake.

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? Nothing at the moment!

Weight Gain?     1 lb this week… Totaling 26 lbs.

Symptoms?

  • Anxiety/Heart Palpitations/Shortness of Breath – I think my anxiety is getting better.  Between lots of prayer, and actually knocking a lot of things off my to do list I’m starting to relax a little!
  • Tingly/Numb leg sensations on my right leg
  • Dry Nose/Nose bleeds
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn

Cravings?  Starbucks ice white mocha latte please!

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip

Sleep? I killed my back this week sleeping the wrong way.  I think somehow my stomach was pulling my back into an awkward position, and I woke up in so much pain.  It felt like I had been bent over backwards for hours on end.  I adjusted how I was sleeping though, and I think I solved this problem!

Maternity Clothes?  I bought another shirt – the repetitive thing is killing me.

Exercise? Paul and I went for a walk this past week with the dogs.  It wasn’t near as long as our normal walks, but man am I feeling out of shape!  I get out of breath so easy, walking usually brings on braxton hicks, and even though Aubrey isn’t sitting on my sciatica anymore, I think she’s on another nerve that randomly causes my right leg to get all tingly and numb feeling.  I feel like our life has calmed down during the week though, so I at least want to try to get some exercise in during the week… The weekends are a whole different story.

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? No change here… Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Preparations for Baby? Since we are starting to get closer to the end, I’m starting to do more to get ready for Aubrey’s arrival, and I figured this would be a fun update!  I am currently in full on nesting mode – not the cleaning part, but the decorating part!  The last 2-3 weeks I’ve probably driven my husband absolutely insane, but he’s been a saint!  He hangs things when I ask, we built a console table together this past weekend (I’ll do a blog post on that soon!), and I may have gone slightly over budget last month and this month due to my need to decorate and instead of getting angry he has just laughed at me… and then said, “Okay but this is it – now you’re done”. See – he’s a saint. 🙂

I am also SUPER EXCITED to say that the nursery is fully decorated!! (aside from the rocking chair which my father in law is bringing this weekend!) So with all the decorating getting done, my anxiety level has definitely lowered!  Once we get the rocking chair in place I will do a nursery reveal, but for now we are still keeping that under wraps! 🙂

I also busted out all of the cloth diapers in our stash this week to start getting them washed and ready for when she get’s here!  CRAZY!!

Labor Signs? Braxton hicks

What I miss?  How easy it was to shave my legs before I had a huge belly.

Looking forward to? So many things!  My in laws and niece will be in on Friday! My sister, her husband, and their girls will be here!  We are taking maternity pictures, and my mom is throwing us a baby shower this weekend!  I am so so excited to see everyone, and to celebrate our little girl!

Baby M – 32 Weeks

Bump Analysis? Here I was thinking that farmers tan would be fading… It looks worse this week.  It should look really good in our maternity pictures… I might need to rethink my outfit!

Month/Trimester? 8 months [32 weeks – 35 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? This week, Aubrey is the size of a squash! She is about 15.2 – 16.7in and 2.5-3.8lbs!

Development? She is getting ready for delivery by getting ready to descend, and get in the head down position.  She’s feeling more cramped as she continues to grow.

Movement? Lots and lots!  Sometimes she kicks so hard out of nowhere it startles me!

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? Nothing at the moment!

Weight Gain?    1 lb this week… Totaling 25 lbs.

Symptoms?

  • Anxiety/Heart Palpitations/Shortness of Breath – I feel like these all go hand in hand…
  • Achy legs at the end of the day
  • Dry Nose
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn

Cravings?  Starbucks ice white mocha latte please!

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip

Sleep? Sleeping well at night, but I feel lethargic during the day.

Maternity Clothes?  My wardrobe is getting really repetitive…

Exercise? I did nothing this week… Fail

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? No change here… Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Labor Signs? Braxton hicks

What I miss? I think at this point I’m too anxious to miss anything… I just can’t wait for her to be here!  I want to see what she looks like and hold her in my arms and cover her in kisses!!

Looking forward to? This week I’m hoping to put some finishing touches onto her nursery so that it is done, and I can mark it off my list, and show you guys!

Baby M – 31 Weeks

Bump Analysis? Ignore the awesome farmers tan I got this weekend… 9 weeks left!! Give or take… AKA she could be here sooner!!

Month/Trimester? 7 months [28 weeks – 31 weeks] / 3rd Trimester!

Fruit of the week? This week, Aubrey is the size of a pineapple!  I don’t know about you but I think a pineapple is pretty dang big to push out… She is approximately 15.2 – 16.7 in long, and weighs between 2.5 – 3.8 lbs!

Development? She is going through lots of brain and nerve development.  Her eyes are continuing to develop and her irises now react to light.  All five of her senses are now functioning.

Movement? We like to play this game when she’s awake.  I poke on an area of my belly, and she kicks me back in that same spot!  It just cracks me up since it doesn’t matter what side I poke, she responds in the same area.  It really makes me feel like I’m already playing with her!

Name? Aubrey Joy 🙂

Testing? My doctor hasn’t called me in regards to my glucose test… I’m guessing no news and good news!  My mom can stop worrying about my water consumption now, I’m really just thirsty 🙂

Weight Gain?   2 lbs this week… Totaling 24 lbs.

Symptoms?

  • Back Pain – Ohh it’s back with a vengeance! If I’m sitting or laying down it’s okay, but as soon as I put weight onto my right foot, I get a shooting pain up my back that’s taken my breath away a few times… My only guess is this sweet little girl of mine has settled in on a nerve somewhere… She needs to move… STAT!
  • Dry Nose – this has been an issue from the very beginning of my pregnancy, but now I feel like it’s just getting worse.  My nose is so dry, and it keeps randomly bleeding.  Please tell me I’m not the only pregnant girl this is happening to!
  • Excessive pee breaks
  • Tailbone Pain
  • Heartburn

Cravings?  So my friend sent me this link last week, and from then on it was all I could think about.  The Cookie Dough Cafe – Edible cookie dough.  No eggs.  AKA safe for this big huge pregnant girl to eat!  I immediately looked up a store in my area that carried it and went to purchase it!

Aversions? Buffalo Chicken Dip

Sleep? I’m starting to get RLS pretty badly when I’m trying to fall asleep.  My calves just feel achy and tingly, and I keep asking Paul to massage my legs.  I don’t know that I can complain though.  Maybe I’m not far along to feel this, but most pregnant women complain about sleep, or the lack thereof, and I’m still sleeping pretty well once I fall asleep!

Maternity Clothes?  Well, I’m making the switch.  The switch to maternity/nursing bras and tanks.  It’s really just unrealistic for me to continue wearing mine.  Motherhood had a Buy 3 get 1 Free sale… So now I just need them to come in the mail, and I’ll decide how much more comfortable my life just got.

Exercise? So this whole shooting back pain thing makes me not want to move… like ever.  So this is a struggle right now.   A walk sounds horrible, and I think our lamaze classes terrified my husband who no longer wants me to go to the gym.  He’s pretty positive it will send me into pre-term labor.

Wedding Rings? ON!

Stretch Marks? No change here… Still using Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and BioOil.

Labor Signs? Braxton hicks are more apparent when I am active and walking.

What I miss? I want to go shopping… For cute clothes, not “Hey you’re huge clothes”….

Looking forward to? My brother and his sweet girlfriend got me a prenatal massage for Christmas.  I’ve been holding onto it until later in my pregnancy when I got more uncomfortable.  While I have to say I don’t feel super uncomfortable all day, by the end of the day I’m pretty achy, so a massage sounds just perfect for me this week 🙂 Thanks Trav & Victoria!

The Perfect Getaway

At the end of March, Paul and I headed to Destin, FL for a baby moon.  It’s not a necessity while you’re pregnant, but it was so incredibly worth it!  We were a little bummed because the forecast was predicted to be a little bit chilly, but man the weather was BEAUTIFUL during the day!  At night, you needed to be bundled up for sure!!

We got to Destin, and immediately just took in the view from our hotel room.  Destin is one of our favorite places, and it just made me happy looking off our balcony to this!

IMG_7061

Friday night, we got there around 6, so we changed and headed to dinner.  We ate at ACME and it was delicious!  Then we spent the evening walking around Baytown.  The whole time, we just kept talking about how awesome it will be when Aubrey gets older and we take trips to Destin, and she can play at all the fun little places they have for kids.

On Saturday, we headed to breakfast at “The Donut Hole”.  If you’ve never been, you need to go.  Right now!  Take me with you!  Everything is homemade, but the donuts are just melt in your mouth amazing.  I want to go back… it’s just a 7 hour drive for a donut!  Totally realistic!

Then we headed to the outlets, and did some damage in an about an hour.  So we left!  It was fun though!  We got great deals at the Nike Outlet, and then updated Paul’s Sperry’s to a nicer pair.  His were looking pretty pathetic.  Afterwards, we headed to the beach, and it ended up being a gorgeous day!  The weather said it was about 60 degrees, but in the sun it felt like 70.  It was beautiful, and we even got some drinks on the beach… Virgin Strawberry Daquiri for me.  I can pretend 🙂

IMG_7067

I was daring enough to sun the bump this weekend too…

IMG_7071

Saturday night, we headed to play put put golf, and we were pretty competitive.  I was winning, until Paul pulled ahead!  He ended up beating me by 7, but we both came in under par.  Quite the accomplishment for a put put golf course!

IMG_7074 IMG_7072

After golf, we found a little local restaurant where we ate, and when we headed back to the hotel, Paul wanted to fish.  So we headed to the beach, and it was FREEZING!  I was shivering so bad, it was making my back hurt! So after about 10 minutes, I decided I was going back to the room.  Well as soon as I told him, he caught a fish!  He started reeling it in, and he could not have been more excited.  One of my favorite parts about Paul is his excitement.  When something makes him happy, you know it! He gets this HUGE smile, and he gets giddy like a little kid at Christmas.  Then he continues to talk about whatever it was that excited him for a day or two with such animation.  It’s adorable.  So imagine his excitement when he caught this sucker…

IMG_7082

Our weekend could not have been better.  It was one of those weekends that just reminds you of all the things that made you fall in love in the first place.   It was a perfect getaway from our busy life lately, and a perfect last weekend away before we are a family of 3!

The Pregnancy Struggles 2.0

I recently talked about the struggles of being pregnant, but it’s time to add to the list. Pregnancy brain.  This is a real thing, and the struggle is real.  The worst part, is that I feel like it shows at work a lot, and then I just feel dumb.  When it happens with Paul, we just laugh at them… and then he brings them up on a regular basis and laughs some more at my expense!

  • Paul and I sat at the table to eat dinner, I picked up my knife and his knife, and got ready to cut my chicken.  He just looked at me trying to figure out what I was doing, until I realized this wasn’t going to work.  I put 1 knife down really confused, and grabbed a fork.  Paul just died laughing at me.
  • I was searching for an email in my deleted emails, when I got a phone call.  This must have distracted me, so when I got off the phone, I saw I had an email with high importance in my email.  I read it, and responded to the man in my office who sent it to me… and then I realized it was an old deleted email from 2013 that I had just replied to.  So I then emailed him again apologizing, and he laughed at me.  Then we laughed about it again during my in office visit.
  • I had to import some information into one of our databases at work, and I could’t find the normal table to import it into.  I had been having some computer issues, so I figured something was funny.  I called a co-worker in, and she ended up importing the file for me on her computer.  Later I went back, and realized I had the wrong database open.  Which would explain the table was not there when I tried to import it… the table didn’t exist in that database.

These more recent ones though, they are Paul’s favorite…

  • I spent the day doing a couple loads of laundry.  When I was laying in bed that night, I asked Paul if he would get the clothes out of the dryer so I could fold them.  He gets up, goes to grab the laundry, and I hear “Lauren are you serious?!” … What?  “You’re running the dryer with nothing in it!”  Apparently I had every intention of switching the clothes over, and even thought I did, but really I didn’t.  Fail.
  • We were having some issues with our tv and our guide stopped working for like a week, but neither of us felt like dealing with the cable company.  Then while we were watching TV one night, the cable stopped working along with our internet and land lines (yes – we have land lines in 2015, but they are for work!}.  So I tell Paul that I’ll call them.  So while I’m on the phone, it keeps asking for the phone number on our account, and each time I put it in, it says it’s not correct.  I start getting frustrated… at that point Paul hears some of the automated system (I had it on speakerphone), and says, “Lauren, you’re calling Comcast… we have Brighthouse!” Bigger fail.

So needless to say, pregnancy brain is a serious condition, and the struggle is so very real!
